Workplace Readiness Series
If you are looking for work or seeking better opportunities, this is the series for you. We offer training in workplace communications, both oral and written. Understanding digital technology and mathematics used on the job are essential skills. Engaging with team members and working with diversity are important. This series is designed to build your confidence and is customized to suit your specific needs. We also support upgrading for employment entry tests.
In a recent survey of job postings in Nipissing District it was noted that 60% of employers were requesting high school (or its equivalency) completion. If you did not achieve your high school diploma, check out our Lifelong Learning Series.
Secondary/Post Secondary
Lifelong Learning Series
In this competitive marketplace basic education has become the norm. It is never too late to achieve your high school diploma (OSSD) or the high school equivalency (GED).
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD):
If you are missing just a few high school credits or many, it is worth exploring the options available for completing them. We work closely with a local school board to facilitate earning the final credits. We provide one-on-one coaching to help you achieve this goal.
The high school equivalency test (GED - General Education Development):
“Earning your Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate through the GED® test could be your first step toward changing your life for the better. Successful GED® graduates benefit from increased earnings, improved job security, enhanced career opportunities, boosted self-confidence, expanded options for skills development, apprenticeships, or college or university programs.” www.ilc.org
The GED Test is held at our location a few times a year. The testing takes place over two days and the content tests the ability to reason, put together information, and draw conclusions. It encompasses five subjects and includes one hand-written essay. We provide a comprehensive preparation course to get you ready to take on this challenging test.
